The Salina Animal Shelter lends its resources to a multitude of areas for Saline county and surrounding counties. From
house pets to wildlife, their focus is to save the life of any endangered animal. And with the assistance of local veternarians,
they have found a way to bring these animals to happy homes.
Director Rose Base shed some light on recent issues for the animal shelter, including lack of help and the scarcity of
finding homes for lost animals. Together, the volunteers and workers for the SAS have tried lowering costs and even driving
some animals to neighboring Colorado, where there is no limit on the time of stay in their shelters. Their future desire is
to be a "no-kill" shelter.
On this home page, I introduce a look into one of the areas largest non-profit organizations.
